Company Mission

My business philosophy is very much akin to my personality. I keep things simple. I offer the unique option to have a beautifully customized space without taking hours upon hours out of your busy schedule. While some types of spaces (like kitchens) do require a more in-depth assessment to ensure user satisfaction, I generally learn the most valuable information about my client by listening, and having down-to-earth conversations about their lifestyle and struggles. If there is any way to increase my client's happiness through design, I make it my mission. With help from my extensive team of contractors, specialists, and craftsmen, I create spaces that are ready for full enjoyment.

When I do research for a client, when I draw plans for them, when I make selections, my thoughts are revolving around whether these decisions will serve them well, and whether the finished result will be one that brings them peace. Over the course of a project, I offer my clients the opportunity to weigh in on certain material/fixture/furniture selections, which gives them a glimpse into how nice the results will be, and helps to hone the design without overwhelming. I have found that the more options a client sees, the more confused they become, and the more the design deteriorates into a convoluted mess. So again, I keep it simple. I keep it brief, and I keep things on track.

About Me

I grew up in the bay area, but have lived in the midwest, as well as in southern California. I studied interior design at the Design Institute of San Diego, earning my BFA. Over the years I have worked in a number of specialties, which has given me expertise in many facets of design, from custom millwork and cabinetry, to high end draperies, to organization and fine furniture. I felt well equipped to begin my journey, and now 15 years later, I enjoy a well furnished portfolio, as well as a solid team of contractors, specialists, and vendors to help me build dream homes.

On a more personal note, I'm a 40-something mom of one headstrong little girl. I get my artistic ability and obsessive perfectionism from my dad. I get my patience and ability to listen from my mom. In my past life I liked to sleep in late. I enjoy good comfort food, Chicago style pizza, wings, chili cheese fries, and the like. I come from a musical family, and appreciate the performing arts. I love a well delivered film of any genre.

I live with my family in the East Bay area, and while I hate it when it gets over 75 degrees, I love the beauty of our California landscape--the hills, the trees, the colors, and the ability to enjoy beaches or snowy mountains. I am happiest when driving through the foothills, pointing out the happy cows to my daughter, and in early summer, wading along the banks of the Mokelumne River.
